Chapter III: Splitting Friendships
"Let's go!" Steven yelled out as he ran towards the forest.
Adam looked up to the clouds, they began to part. The stars were falling. They hit the earth, making the ground shake and shooting dirt twenty feet into the air. They crashed down everywhere. The lightning still rumbled.
Delian stood and started running. Adam stood still and looked at the hand, the bloodstain was still there. He looked up as two blurs flew by him. Jarred and Beth were running as fast as they could. Adam looked back, Phantoms were coming. This beautiful image had turned into a nightmare. Adam started running, the other Phantom Hunters were making there way to the forest as well. Tai and Joey fell behind, a few Phantoms swooped down and picked them up and flew away. Adam yelled and cried out for them.
The Phantoms still came, now the Phantom Hunters were the hunted. It was the time for the Phantoms to start hunting. Adam turned and ran. He looked to his left and right, Alex and Chris were beside him. They all ran at the same speed. Alex tripped, Chris went back to help. Adam stopped and looked back. A Phantom flew down, it grabbed Chris by the torso and picked him up off the ground. Alex reached out to grab him. But he was too late, Adam turned to see Chris with an outstretched arm. His eyes were glazed, Adam's face crumpled into a sad expression and sighed sadly. Tears streamed down his face.
Then Alex yelled, Adam quickly turned to see Alex being lifted from the ground. He outstretched his arm and grasped Alex' hand. Then he slipped, he had grabbed Alex' hand with the hand in which he held the butterflies in. Adam fell the the ground and looked up as Alex flew away in the grasp of the Phantom. He felt a piercing gaze, he turned quickly to see three Phantoms floating in mid-air. They each stared at him, one was in a dark red cloak, the other in a dark green cloak and the last in a dark blue cloak. Each of them had their hoods on. Adam knew that the one in dark red was Jesse, but he was puzzled of who the others were.
Jesse pulled his hood off, he looked normal, he looked human. Then the other two pulled their hoods back. Adam stepped back a few steps, it was Cassie and Amanda.
"No..." Adam said under his breath sadly.
Then they turned, their skin went chap, their eyes went ruby red.
Adam turned and began to run again. Beth and Ben ran beside him, he sighed and stopped. He turned and faced a Phantom, Adam swung his fist. His fist went through the Phantom, another Phantom flew down and flew through him. Adam's breath was stolen, he fell back clutching his chest. Both Ben and Beth were taken.
Adam still gasped for air, nothing came into his lungs. He tried harder, still nothing. He looked to his left to see Steven and Dell, they were running to him. Adam watched helplessly as they were both lifted into the air.
Adam reached out and tried talking, nothing came out or went in. His chest started to hurt, it felt like it was about to burst. His heart was pounding harder than it had ever before. He lay on the ground trying to get some air into his lungs, trying to refresh himself. He started to see double, then it faded to black. The last thing he saw was the three Phantom Leaders landing beside him. He shut his eyes and saw a bright light...
(This is now in real life, still Adam)
Jarred ripped the wolfs head apart, it had bitten him in numerous places. His shoulder had been nearly ripped to pieces. He grasped the sword Adam had made for him, he aimed at the wolf laying on the ground. It breathed heavily and then howled as it died slowly. Jarred slowly backed away from the wolf, not turning his back. He slowly backed up, then he turned as he reached a safe distance. He felt Adam's presence near, he searched everywhere. He walked by a thorn bush and left the presence getting stronger. He ran around searching, he lifted a bush branch and saw Adam lying still, he looked like he wasn't breathing. Jarred rushed to Adam's side and set down his sword. He turned Adam over, a large cut ran down his face. It overlapped his left eye. Jarred sighed slowly and sadly as he overlooked Adam.
"Adam? Adam you okay?" Jarred asked slowly.
He tried shaking him, he didn't wake. He grabbed his wrist and checked for a pulse... nothing.
He shook him again, nothing. He didn't breath, no rise or fall of the chest, no nothing. Nothing showed that he was alive, no signs at all. Jarred leaned over Adam and began with a low sob, then it grew worst. He began to cry horribly, for his partner, his friend... his brother in Christ.
(This is in the dream now... Still Adam)
Adam walked closer and closer to the light, he was being drawn to it slowly. He couldn't stop, he wanted to stop and go back. The the light began to fade, it grew dimmer and dimmer by the second.
A loud voice said, "GO BACK, THEY STILL NEED YOU. THEY NEED YOUR HELP, ADAM."
Then Adam began to fall, he felt light. He began to shut his eyes. He began to sleep once again. He shut his eyes and breathed outwards.
(Back to real life... yes, this is still Adam)
Adam's chest rose high and fell back down. Jarred sat up and looked at Adam, he began to breath again. A slight smile ran across his face. Jarred wiped his eyes and sniffled slowly.
Adam tried sitting up...
(okay Jarred you can now lead-off)
(Jarred)
“Adam we have to get out of here.” Jarred said as he helped Adam up, Adam winced in pain as he stood up. Jarred put his arm around Adam’s shoulder and they walked as fast as they could away from the Phantoms. It was very dark and it started to rain, lightening filled the air followed by loud thundering. Adam could barely stand; Jarred looked around for a safe place to stop, even though really there were no safe places to hide from the Phantoms. Jarred and Adam leaned up against a tree for rest; Adam slumped to the ground exhausted. Jarred started chanting a spell, his voice grew louder and louder until he stopped and a opening in the ground started appearing; Jarred looked up to see Phantoms coming down on them. Jarred grabbed Adam and jumped in the hole that he had made, he quickly said, “Eni et almon él fi.” The opening in the earth closed just as the Phantom’s reached the ground. There was silence for a few minutes; Jarred and Adam couldn’t see anything, Jarred chanted another spell and a glow appeared in the middle of the room. Jarred had been thought a lot about the earth, fire, snow, rain and other things that God had created for his pleasure; Jarred knew many of natures spells. The room Jarred had made was about 6 feet tall and 6 feet long on all sides; Jarred looked over at Adam, he had almost gone unconscious again and his head was burning. The night went on with Jarred chanting many spells to make ointment and other things that might bring Adam back to normal. For one day Jarred tried to revive Adam back to help, it was 27 hours after Jarred had made the hole in the earth that Adam was completely healthy and strong again. “So Jarred I spent most of my studies on Phantoms and I don’t’ know very much of this kind of stuff, tell me what is your plan?” Jarred who was tired, from being awake for almost two days said; “After I get some sleep I will cast a spell to get us out of here.” With that Jarred dozed off;
When he awoke he found that Adam had cast some spells to make some knives and other small weapons so that they could be ready the next time to defend there selves. Jarred stood up and he said some things that Adam didn’t understand after a few minutes a hole opened, Jarred and Adam held their arms in front of their faces because the sunlight glared down on them. Adam helped Jarred out and then jumped up himself; after figuring out where they were the two headed north in hopes of still rescuing Jarred’s partner.
(Jarred still)
Adam and Jarred spoke of many things as they traveled northward, Adam told Jarred much about the Phantoms and their secrets. Like wise Jarred told Adam about nature’s secrets and how he could use it to help him. “Adam how can you do some of the things you do?” Jarred asked Adam. “In Matthew 17 verse 20 God says that if we faith like a mustard seed we can do anything.” Jarred looked up at the sky and thought about this, “Faith,” he thought; he closed his eyes and tried to have a feeling of faith. He opened his eyes again and he saw the clouds move into the shape of his face. “See.” Adam smiled and they continued on. Adam and Jarred guessed they were about four or five days from where the Phantoms lived, Jarred could feel the weather getting colder and colder. It was two days after Jarred and Adam had come up out of the ground and they stopped for the night as it was getting dark. Jarred and Adam took turns throughout the night to watch out so the other could get some sleep. Jarred decided to take the first turn this night; as Adam fell asleep, Jarred looked up at the stars they were beautiful, millions and millions of stars to look at. Jarred closed his eyes and thanked God for the stars that he had made for his glory. All of sudden dark clouds covered the stars, and a cold, fast wind started blowing. Jarred stood up and looked around, he had very good vision and could see things close at a distance; he didn’t see anything but he had an uneasy feeling. He walked over to Adam and woke him up, “Adam wake up something strange is happening.” Jarred pointed to the sky, “All the stars were out a minute ago and then all the sudden, the wind came and the clouds covered them up. Adam starred at the sky for a minute until saying; “The Phantoms cast a spell to hide the stars so they can’t listen in on a meeting they have planned, they usually meet in a place called Minetek it is full of evil magic and a place that should never be visited, we should probably go underground.” Adam looked over at Jarred and nodded, Jarred said a spell and the ground opened. Jarred and Adam hopped in, then Jarred said; “Eni et almon él fi.” And the hole closed back up; Jarred made a fire and Adam and Jarred both sat down. “I just hope that they aren’t talking about us.” Jarred said. (Adam now you can write something profound, and it would be great if other people started telling there story as well instead of just Adam and I)
(this is Jesse)
It had been so long the I barely know who I am anymore. The pain, the constant excrutiating pain, nothing aliviated it. "I didn't know what I was doing at the time, I didn't know this would happen I'm so sorry" I cried aloud. No one heard my cry, no one ever hears me. Just an echo that seemed so loud and yet fell so dead going nowhere. Even the seclusion didn't seem so bad if only the voices would leave me allown. The voices used to be friends, used to be. Now they haunt me. It's hopeless absolutly hopeless. No real friends they would only turn on me. Freinds are only faithful when they want or need something. I'm better off by myself I'll show them, they'll see. All I need is some help, the voices will help me they are my friends now, they take care of me. Here they come again, welcome freinds. Tell me what I am to do, what is your bidding. The voices always help me. always
(wasn't that great... It was shweet)
This is Adam
Adam and Jarred walked in silence. Every now and then the ground shook. But they ingored it, Adam felt something stirring inside him, something depressing and sad. It grew stronger and stronger with every step. He began to breath heavily. Something was happening, something he hadn't felt in so long. The pain, the fear of losing a loved one, the loss of a friend.
"Stop! Stop it now!" Adam said under his breath, "Leave me alone, I don't want you here anymore... don't do this again."
His voice grew louder than ever before, he sensed darkness.
It surrounded them, it made him grow weak, it made a pain so unbearable he wanted to die. It started as a small trickle of sadness, it had been growing over the few days. Now it had just reached it's climax.
"Stop it! Stop it!" Adam yelled in a dark and deep voice.
Jarred stopped and backed away.
Adam quickly looked up to Jarred, his eyes were glazed.
"Help me, Jarred. Help me." He cried in an eerie voice.
Adam clutched his stomach, he fell and yelled. The ground was shaking.
Adam's eyes turned blood shot, then they went black. He started to glow red. The tunnel rumbled. Dust fell from the ceiling of the tunnel.
Jarred rushed to Adam and planted his hand on his heart. He started to caste a spell.
"Aien ban sqwee ai du sno yair..." Jarred said trembling.
Adam turned over and curled into a ball. He heard faint noises growing and growing. It was like a cowd, a crowd trying to say different things to him. Some screaming, hurting his ears.
Adam felt numb, his joints locked. He didn't uncurl, he was having a vision.
Beth was banging on some cell walls. A few Phantoms flew into the room and grabbed her. They pulled her from the cell, one Phantom hit her on the back of the head. She slumped over, unconscious. They dragged her away. Blood soaked her light brown hair. Then something blurry and black flew into the room and grabbed her. The Phantoms turned around and went black and blurry as well.
The vision ended... Adam looked up to see Jarred standing next to him.
Then Jarred fell over for no apparent reason.
(The blacked out Jarred)
Jarred found himself in a dark field the grass was black the sky was black, Jarred looked around, he saw Jesse looking at him with piercing eyes; Beth was tied up to a pillar of stone next to him. Jarred walked toward him he pulled out his sword, and prepared for a fight with Jesse; but just as he reached him he vanished, Jarred turned to Beth her head was faced down. Jarred walked up to her, she lifted her head up to see Jarred; her eyes were blazing red; Jarred stumbled backwards and fell down from the shock. (Back in the real world)
Jarred looked up at Adam, he was back to normal and he was chanting a spell. “Jarred, what happened?” Adam helped Jarred up, Jarred looked around; his eyes were wide and fearful. “I had a vision.” He looked over at Adam who had sat back down; “I had one also!” Jarred sat down next to Adam, “What was it about?” Adam related to Jarred what he had seen, concern filled Jarred. “I found myself in a field where everything was black even the grass, and Jesse was there,” Jarred stuttered over his words, “and I pulled my sword out and prepared to fight but he disappeared, and Beth was tied up to a pillar of stone and she had red eyes and I fell backwards and I woke up.” Jarred looked over at Adam, “What do they mean?” Adam knew more about visions then Jarred; “I don’t know but we must not be frightened by these visions we must stay on the right path and pray for guidance.” Jarred nodded his head, the fear that he had left him, “but we must go get Beth as soon as possible something strange is happening!” Jarred looked at Adam, “I agree,” Jarred thought about what just happened, he wondered what would happen next; he didn’t want to lose the only partner he had ever had!
This is Adam now...
Adam sat by Jarred looking around. He sighed and into Jarred's eyes. He sighed again and said, "I think it's time I told you, Jarred, " Adam said slowly.
"Tell me about what?" Jarred asked curiously.
"I am going to tell you about Jesse, the Ice Phantoms and why I prefer to go by mysef. I'll start with the Ice Phantoms. The Ice Phantoms were discovered years ago... before my... my father was born," Adam said continued, "They were a the most frightening Phantom ever discovered. They are very powerful, not many could track down and control them. But somehow Jesse did, he found them and mastered them. How he did I don't know how. But the main thing is how to kill them. Many people have turned to fire spells to kill them, but what you need is ice spells. That will protect you the most and kill them instantly. My father figured this out after looking at records, old transcripts and old stories. When you attack an Ice Phantom with a fire spell and you "kill" it you split it into two others. If you use any spell attack on a Phantom while it is in another form you just send it back to the master, which in this case is Jesse.
If you use a ice spell it kills it, like I said before. That is why I have tried to master the Ice Spells day after day... cause one day I knew it would come in handy. Unfortunately I haven't yet... that's where Jesse comes in. He was once my trainer, I went to him secretly after training with Cassie and Amanda... I traded my knowledge of Ice Phantoms with him, in return he trained me to master any spell technique, I chose ice. I told him everything, everything about them... but he went further and learned more from things that I have only heard in fables and stories. I can't remember what they are called but, they live in the catacombs. They aren't natural creatures nor are they mystical. They are from another dimension like Phantoms and Pink fairies. They don't come from around here, they are from the Zoth Dimension. believe me when I say that the Zoth Dimension exists, cause that is where I have seen my vision taking place. I have no idea why it took place there but, I think something is coming that we aren't expecting. I can't say what, but it isn't going to be pleasant.
And the last thing, why I prefer to work alone. I have trouble looking out for my partner and usually I grow attached to them. Then I lose focus on the primary mission and try to protet my partner more than I protect myself. When that happens I am vulnerable to attacks from the Zoth dimension, from Black fairies which I think don't exist anymore, I am also vulnerable to Phantom dementors, I lose magic storage faster, I can't focus to well on moving objects, I can't see through disguises and when I am face to face with a Phantom I can be easily manipulated. That is why Amanda tried so hard to teach me to withstand manipulation. Then I get worse after that, I lust for power, Anger and bitterness take over. They control me, then my mind is open to darkness. The powerful voices that won't let go. They continuisly attack and grasp to my mind.
That is why I try to do missions by myself. That is why I cannot.... I cannot be a complete Phantom Hunter... I am a Lone Hunter and I will always be a Lone Hunter." Adam sighed as he was finished, "I am seeing what will happen in the future, Jarred. If I tell it will all come true and I don't want that to happen."
Jarred just nodded his head and looked to the floor.
(Jarred)
Jarred and Adam remained in hole for a few more hours and then they decided that they would continue onward. Jarred opened the hole and the two got out, it was morning and the black clouds were gone, there was some morning snow on the ground; so before they started traveling again, Adam chanted a few spells for warmer clothing. For the first time in a while Jarred started wondering about the others, he wondered what had happened after Adam, him and Beth got separated from them. As the two boys walked along Adam thought Jarred many spells that would help him fight the phantoms, he talked mostly about the Ice phantoms for he knew a lot about them. At about two o’clock Jarred and Adam decided to stop for lunch, the sun was shinning and the wind wasn’t too bad so they decided they would eat above ground. Jarred chanted a spell to make there lunch “ren el font si mik ni wem tel” They were in a wood but the sun shone through the trees and it made the lunch very bright and happy, the two boys were sitting up against a tree; they hadn’t felt this happy in a long time. “I’ve read about the north, but I never expected it to be this nice.” Jarred said as he took a bite of his lunch; Adam froze, his face expression changed. “Adam what’s wrong?” Adam pulled out his sword; “That’s the point it shouldn’t be this nice, something strange is going on,” Jarred stood up as well and looked around, neither of them felt so hungry anymore. “Adam you’re not telling me something.” Adam looked at Jarred, “Jesse, he knows we’re here.” Visions flew into Jarred’s mind he started to think about Beth again and what she was going through and Jesse with those glaring dark, deep red eyes. Adam’s concerns proved to be right when dark swirling clouds came over them, everything turned black. Jarred and Adam with swords in hand looked around the wood, Adam smelled the air; “Wolves, lots of them.” Jarred had only fought wolves once and there were only three, he could see bright eyes all around them in the darkness. One of the wolves howled a evil horrifying howl, the wolves attacked us, Adam killed the first one instantly by slashing it in the neck, two wolves rushed at Jarred, he thought about Beth in a cell and Adam his best friend fighting next to him, all fear left Jarred and in its place came a determined feeling. Jarred flipped in the air and slashed the two wolves in face with his knives, they fell to the ground and then ran away howling in anger; before he knew it four other wolves were on him, he striked at the wolves with a fiery for his friends, he didn’t want to lose Adam or any of his other friends. Jarred took the first two wolves down, then a wolf came from behind and knocked the sword out of Jarred’s hand, the sword broke in two; Jarred jumped back up and pulled out his knives, he looked over at Adam who was fighting like a hero, Jarred ran at the wolves, he quickly slit the first ones throat but there were too many, Jarred was knocked over and bitten several times, he felt pain everywhere he tried to struggle but the pain was unbearable, the last thing he remembered was Adam chanted a spell in a loud voice and killing all the wolves around him, Jarred blacked out. He found himself very high up in a tree, his wounds were gone and he felt great, he looked down at the ground, and there was Beth and Adam, they signaled for him to come down, Jarred started to climb down, he keep going down for five minutes when he stopped to take a rest he looked down; Beth and Adam were still as far down as they were before, Jarred was confused, he tried jumping out of the tree but he stopped in mid air as if he had hit a rock. He looked back down at Adam and Beth, tears came into his eyes, he could hear Adam saying “Wake up, wake up…”
Jarred opened his eyes, the pain came back he was back in the real world, everything was still dark, he looked at Adam he was blurry; one of his eyes were swollen shut and he had a painful headache, his clothes were stained with dark red blood. “Adam.” Jarred said faintly, “Is that you?” Tears came to Adam’s eyes; “Hold on Jarred, hold on,” Adam said the spell to open the earth (Jarred thought him). Adam picked up Jarred and he jumped into the hole he laid Jarred down and then said “Eni et almon él fi” the hole shut, Adam made a fire in the middle of the room; Jarred had never felt so much pain in his life, his right ankle bone was shattered, his right elbow as also shattered, he had cuts everywhere, his face didn’t look like his own. Jarred fell asleep just as Adam started chanting some spells, he remembered no more (at least for a while).
Adam here...
Adam sat next to a nearby wall. He looked at Jarred but couldn't see too well his vision was blurred by his tears. He sat there there saying, "I'm sorry Jarred, I'm so sorry I didn't help you. I'm so sorry.. How could this have happened, why did you let this happen? Why?!" Adam looked to Jarred and said, "I have to do this Jarred, for both of us... I won't let you die, I can't watch you suffer anymore. I have to do this."
Adam moved away from the wall and kneeled over Jarred. He started chanting a spell, "Amie kue ra na sin embra oer lan chien atsu wesh anya ai su la."
Jarred began to glow, a purple swirling portal opened. Adam looked down to Jarred, Jarred opened his eyes a little and moaned. Adam said, "I'll see you at home Jarred."
Adam slowly pushed Jarred into the portal. Adam said a few words and the portal closed.
He sat in the tunnel, all by himself, then he stood and started running.
-Tai here-
Tai smiled at Delian who was at last sleeping. She deserved to sleep - she had been weary from her worrying and tears, but she had taken the first watch that night anyway. Before taking her place as the next watch out side, Tai looked over the cots just to make sure everyone was sleeping well. Joey and Jen snored lightly, Steven tossed several times, and Chris was drooling a little. Tai sighed, she was thinking of her warm covers, but her first duty was to now take her post and watch for the pantoms.
She closed the door behind her silently and sat down with her back against the hut. She fingered her bow string as she looked up into the star-filled sky and wondered what God's plan was in all of these terrible things that had been happening... and she wondered if Jarred, Adam or Beth were even still alive. "Faith..." she murmured. "...I need to have faith!" She leaned back and closed her eyes for a second, but what she saw behind her closed lids was not what she had expected or wanted. There was the usual darkness, but in the midst of that darkness was... "Beth!" Tai knew Beth couldn't hear her or see her immediately, but she could see Beth. Her hair was a mess, her clothes had been exchanged for black ones and as she looked on, Beth looked up and opened her eyes - RED! They were red! Tai gasped, "No! Take me instead! Please - not her!" She yelled out to no one in particular. Then a dark mist gathered and writhed until she could see the form of, "Jesse!" Jesse grinned, "Nice little trophy we have, eh?" His billowing laughter filled Tai with dread... but it was a hollow laugh. "We would never consider taking you as a replacement for her... but both of you..." Jesse started to cast a spell - Tai could feel that it was a cage spell. But then he stopped and looked behind her with a look of mixed fear, horror, rage and surprise. He started to run - forgetting for the moment that he could simply dissapear. Tai just stood still - and what ran past her next was a bigger surprise to see than she had ever expected when she volunteered to take this watch - three flaming chariots dashed past her. They were pulled by enormous animals very similar to our horses - except for their golden glowing wings. The people - or things driving them were like giants with two pairs of wings and shining armor. The had their swords drawn, and they gleamed in the immense light that surrounded each chariot. Tai had a feeling, dispite her slight fear of these beings, that they were on her side, and as a feeling of warmth enveloped her, she closed her eyes...
Tai looked around. The stars were still out and in the same positions as before... wait - she looked closer. Being a master of the stars herself, she could see in them that someone had used a portal spell and opened up a hole in the sky to travel through... she looked at the lare gap between the stars, the black, ominous gap. Who could have used it... and where were they going with it? Suddenly, the gap glowed purple and she stood up. You could only see the purple of the portal when... whoever it was was being transported right to you! She fitted an arrow to her bow, and waited. She didn't have long to wait, however and Jarred came crashing to the ground. "Jarred! You're back - you're ALIVE!!!" Tai yelled, but then she saw that Jarred wasn't getting up - he had blood staining his shirt. She sank to her knees. "Dell, Steven, Chris - SOMEBODY! I need some help - Jarred's back, but he's hurt badly!" she yelled. Steven came dashing out of the ht first and picked up Jarred as Dell, Jen, Joey and Chris came running out all asking what had happened at the same time. Delian was overjoyed to see her younger brother, but dismayed to see him hurt. As the others filed into the hut, Steven still carrying Jarred, Dell hung back to ask Tai, "Do... do you think he'll be Ok?" she sniffed, but braved held back the tears that stung the corners of her eyes. Tai looked up just as a shooting star dissappeared behind a distant hill and murmured, "God knows - he knows everything."

Adam here
Adam ran faster and faster... a trail of dust followed him. Tears streamed down his fae as he ran in the tunnel...
'I have to do this, I have to' He thought to himself over and over again.
He caste a spell, he began to run faster. Everything around him began to blur.
"Why are you running?" A voice asked him.
"I have to do this... I have to." Adam replied.
"Why are you running?" The voice asked again.
"Leave me alone!!! I'm not listening to you... I will not listen to you anymore, you have brought so much pain... So just leave me alone!" Adam replied harshly.
"I can't... We are YOU!!!" The voice yelled.
Adam caste the same spell again... everything turned brown, he felt light, he couldn't feel his legs. He wanted to get away. He wanted the voices to leave, but they wouldn't.
"COME BACK!!!" A different voice yelled.
Adam immediately stopped, looked behind him to see a pink light floating in the air. It was Empa. Adam wiped away his tears and waited.
Empa flew closer and stopped in front of him.
"Where is Jarred?" She asked.
"I've snt him home... There was nothing I could do to heal him... only Chris or... or Beth could completely heal him." Adam said as he fell to the ground thinking of his friends.
"Don't cry Adam... I'm sure God will--" Empa started.
"What do you know about God!!! Huh?! You know nothing!! You were created in another dimension... you were created unnaturally!" Adam interrupted as he glared at Empa, "You know nothing..."
"By the way I've heard you and Jarred speak of him, He is loving, caring... and... and fullfiling. But now that Jarred has gone... seems to me that you have changed... you are acting different... you are bitter, angry and depressed." Empa replied.
"You're right... I have been acting different... I have been running... running from the emotions, the signs that tell me to turn to Him for help... Thank you, Empa."
(Adam again)
Adam slowly stood, his shoulders drooped a little. But he straightened and turned to Empa. She darted around him.
Adam looked at her and said, "Forgive me...?"
Empa flew around Adam and replied, "I... forgive... you."
Adam knew she had no idea what she had just said, he shook his head and looked to his fet. He looked up and began to speak.
The tunnel shook, Adam leaned against the wall so he wouldn't lose his balance. Empa flew around, not knowing what was going on. Then the tunnel began to collapse.
Adam turned and started running. He tried a spell, but it wasn't letting him.
"Phantoms? No, I would've sensed them. Jesse? No, He doesn't know where I am." Adam thought to himself as he started to pick up his pace.
Vertigo came over him, he felt light headed. He fell to the ground, the tunnel still collapsed. He lay on the ground helpless. The crumbling tunnel sound started to over come all other sounds, except his heartbeat. He tried standing... he couldn't. Adam started to panic, he didn't know what to do.
"Empa!!!" He yelled loudly.
Empa stopped and turned, she didn't know that Adam had fallen behind. She turned and flew back.
"Help me..." Adam pleaded.
"I can't... I... I will die, if I touch a human." Empa replied sadly.
Adam curled into a ball and called for an open portal and talked to Alex.
"Alex, I need you... come on in... this isn't a trick... this is Adam." Adam begged.
(Adam)
Jarred slowly opened his eyes, a bright light came through some broken wooden drapes. He squinted and held up his hand. He looked around him, he was in a room.
'What happened to me? Where am I?' He thought to himself.
"Adam? Adam are you in here?" Jarred asked confused.
No response but dead silence. Jarred moved his leg and pain shot through his body, he yelled and laid back down on the bed. His ankle was hurting with pain that wouldn't leave.
A door burst open, Dell came running in with glee. She grabbed Jarred and held onto him tightly.
"I'm so glad you're back, Dont' leave again." She said seriously through tears.
"Where's Adam?" Jarred managed to ask through the tight hug.
Dell let go and looked at him, "What do you mean, Adam? He was with you?"
"Yeah, we were fighting some wolves in the North Woods and then I remember waking up in a tunnel... that's it."
(Okay Jarred... have fun!)
(Adam)
At first Alex hesitated when he heard Adam's voice. He sat up on his bed and saw a portal open. Then he heard Adam talk again. Alex rolled to the side of hid bed and got up. He walked to the portal and stuck his hand through. Then he took two full steps. He appeared in a dark tunnel. Adam looked up from the ground and saw Alex standing above him. Alex looked around and saw that the tunnel was caving. He looked down and saw Adam laying on the ground. He grabbed his arm and lifted him over his shoulders. Then he cast the teleportaion spell.
They were standing on the ground a few meters from the collapsing tunnel.
